Cindy Rickner Honored as Cavanaugh Elementary Classified Employee of the Year!

Fort Smith Public Schools is proud to announce that Special Educational Paraprofessional, Mrs. Cindy Rickner, has been named the Cavanaugh Elementary Classified Employee of the Year. Mrs. Rickner has been a dedicated and valued member of the district for over 25 years,  contributing her time and talents to students and staff alike.

“Mrs. Rickner has the heart, compassion, knowledge, and instincts to teach and help students,” said one of her colleagues. Known for her strong relationships with students, families, and staff, Mrs. Rickner takes on multiple roles to support the school. She arrives every morning at 6:30 AM to greet students, supports small group learning, and skillfully adapts to the needs of students with behavioral challenges. Her dedication and leadership extend far beyond the classroom, impacting all areas of school life.

In addition to her primary duties, Mrs. Rickner has consistently gone above and beyond, volunteering for bus and breakfast duties, assisting with the school’s safety patrol program, and helping to implement new policies that support a smooth and efficient school day. Her ability to manage challenging student situations with patience and empathy makes her a key figure in the school’s success.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Rickner has earned the trust and respect of her colleagues, families, and students alike. Her professionalism, work ethic, and ability to collaborate make her an irreplaceable part of the team. Her problem-solving skills and transparent communication have made her a go-to resource for advice and support.
